Citroen have revealed the C5 Aircross at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show.
The C5 Aircross has been inspired by the Aircross Concept which was shown in 2015.
SUV cars have been getting ever more popular and the C5 Aircross is Citroen’s start to finally crack into the segment.
The exterior looks are almost a carbon copy of the Aircross Concept with the familiar Citroen style of the double stacked headlights, clamshell bonnet, roof rails familiar to the C4 Cactus and plastic body cladding.
Inside there’s a very stylish two-tone dashboard with a 12.3” digital instrument cluster and an 8” HD touchscreen being the main features. The C5 Aircross will also feature wireless smartphone charging, Active Safety Brake, Active Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop Function, Grip Control and Hill Assist Descent Control.
It will also be Citroen’s first car available as a PHEV Plug-In Hybrid.
C5 Aircross will debut a new suspension system with ‘Progressive Hydraulic Cushions’. This will provide improved damping for high grade in ride comfort.
The New C5 Aircross is the symbol of a brand with strong momentum, in touch with the expectations of customers in regions all over the world. It is the first practical illustration of our offensive on the SUV market, illustrating our ability to approach it in our own way, with greater emphasis on character, comfort and on-board well-being. New C5 Aircross will clearly be a major growth driver for Citroën.
said Citroën CEO Linda Jackson.
The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV is due for release in Europe in the second half of 2018.
